Background:
Developmental Aid Organization (DAID) is Sudanese Non-government Organization based in El Fasher, Northern Darfur, Sudan. Established in September 2019 with registration number 3054, Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC), North Darfur. It aims at reducing community problems and challenges in the sector of Peacebuilding, education, health and development in Sudan generally and especially North Darfur. DAID deploys its projects and programs in all North Darfur localities and will expand them to cover all Darfur in the near future.

- To help the displaced people and refugees in Darfur by facilitating their living standards;
- To help the poor, homeless and miserable people in North Darfur state;
- To educate and train people in North Darfur provinces via capacities programs;
- To support the agricultural, economic, educational and health sectors of the state via various capacity programs and trainings;
- To support the sustainable livelihood programs for people in Darfur;
- To help Darfur students at local, national and international levels to enable them to educate;
- To find scholarships for Darfur students abroad to enhance their knowledge in different areas;
- To contribute in achieving sustainable development goals
Our working Areas:
As United Nations submitted Sustainable Development Goals on September 25, 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a total of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, end hunger achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning, achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, ensure access to water and sanitation for all, ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all, build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation, reduce inequality within and among countries, make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss, promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies, revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
To contribute implementing the above submitted Sustainable Development Goals, and base on needs of our communities, DAID decided to start working in the following areas:
Peacebuilding activities:
DIAD works with other stockholders to deliver peace activities in different area of Darfur, such as IDP camps, community centers in different North Darfur towns. These peace activities include awareness generation sessions by community leaders, Darfur peace experts and other peacebuilding peacekeeping actors on the ground.
Education:
Focuses on supporting orphans in their schools by providing basics school needs such as annual school fees, books, bags, school stationaries, and make sure gender equality in education and works with communities and local governments across north Darfur to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children. Supports girls to complete secondary school with the life skills they’ll need to succeed in school and beyond.
Health:
Works closely with the local government and their medical and academic institutions to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Establishes long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty and strives to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair. Works to improve market dynamics for medicines and diagnostics; lower prices for treatment; accelerate access to lifesaving technologies; and help governments build the capacity required for high-quality care and treatment programs.
Programs implemented in 2019:
Some of the projects that have been implemented by DIAD include malaria control with closed coordination with ministry of Health and Social Development, North Darfur to reduce the infection of malaria to the community in El Fasher. Facilitation of scientific journey to 120 students and 10 teachers from Future school for girls to North Darfur formal nurse. The main goal of the journey is to create solid relationship between students and environment protection workers.
Planned Programs for 2020:
Peacebuilding process through generation awareness sessions in IDP camps, Vocational training for poor and homeless people, awareness on risk of drug use among youth generally and specially students by delivering sessions in their schools and other places.
